Jema K. Hill-Cook is the founder and lead therapist of KimJe Counseling & Consulting, where she integrates over 15 years of experience in mental health, leadership development, and organizational consulting to empower individuals and institutions toward healing and growth. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) specializing in trauma-informed care, with advanced training in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)—a powerful, evidence-based therapy for treating trauma, anxiety, and emotional distress.

Jema’s approach is rooted in compassion, clarity, and clinical excellence. Her work at Nexus Recovery Center and beyond reflects her deep commitment to supporting clients with co-occurring psychiatric and substance use disorders, guiding them through individualized treatment and recovery planning. She is especially known for her ability to create safe, transformative spaces where clients can explore their stories, process pain, and reclaim their peace.

In addition to her clinical work, Jema brings a dynamic leadership presence to the field of consulting. She has served as a Senior Consultant with the Missouri Youth Services Institute, supporting statewide juvenile justice reform through coaching, training, and strategic system design. As the Director of Training for Tailor Made Training & Consulting, she has developed and delivered leadership modules focused on supervision, team development, and organizational change. Her public speaking style—infused with humor, authenticity, and practical insight—makes her a sought-after facilitator and keynote speaker.

Jema holds a Master’s in Professional Counseling from Amberton University, a Master of Public Administration from the University of Colorado–Denver, and a Bachelor’s in Law Enforcement Administration from the University of Oklahoma. She is also the author of Reflections: What I Know to Be True, a 30-day devotional rooted in personal faith and resilience.

Whether in the counseling room, the boardroom, or the classroom, Jema's mission is the same: to help people heal, lead, and live with purpose.
